Four People, quite a Lot of Bottles.

Four People, quite a Lot of Bottles.

Mourne Dew is not run by departments, committees or an impressive number of people. There are four of us.

Between us, we create the spirits, bottle them, label them, sell them, pack the orders, answer the emails and handle everything else required to keep a distillery moving. It can get busy, occasionally chaotic, and rarely involves anyone sticking neatly to one job.

Here are the people behind Mourne Dew.

Donal

Founder. Distiller. Always Experimenting.

Donal started Mourne Dew in 2017 and remains the source of most new ideas, sensible or otherwise.

He develops our spirits using cold distillation, a process that allows us to capture fresh, delicate flavours without cooking the life out of them. He also works on new products, technical development and taking Mourne Dew into markets beyond the Mournes.

If something unusual is quietly appearing in the distillery, Donal probably has a plan for it.

Donal (Óg)

From Liquid to Finished Bottle.

Donal Jnr keeps production moving. He prepares batches, bottles spirits, manages stock and makes sure there is something ready when an order needs to leave.

It is practical, physical work, with plenty of lifting, filling & checking.

Most bottles of Mourne Dew will have passed through his hands before reaching yours.

John Donnelly

Usually Somewhere Between Here and a Stockist.

John looks after sales and spends much of his time on the road, introducing Mourne Dew to bars, restaurants, shops and distributors.

He keeps in touch with existing customers, finds new places for our bottles and brings back a steady stream of orders, opportunities and conversations that begin with, “I was talking to someone…”

If you spot Mourne Dew behind a bar or on a shelf, John may well be the reason it is there.

Lydia Farrell

A Hand in Everything. An Eye on What’s Next.

Lydia works across almost every corner of Mourne Dew.

She coordinates orders, production plans, stock, labels, compliance, personalised bottles and dispatch, while also looking after the website, marketing, emails and how the brand shows up in the world.

If you have ordered from us, messaged us, received a personalised bottle or noticed something new online, Lydia was probably behind it.

She is also usually the person who knows what needs done next. Whether she particularly wanted to know or not.

Small Team. Proper Distillery.

Being a team of four means the people making the decisions are also the people filling the bottles, packing the boxes and replying to customers.

It means every order is noticed, every new stockist matters and every bottle has a real journey through our hands before it reaches yours.

That is Mourne Dew. Four people, a distillery in the Mournes and a growing collection of spirits made a little differently.

Sláinte.
