How to Make a Rostrevor French Martini

The French Martini has always been a bit of a crowd-pleaser. Fruity, silky and just impressive enough to look like you made a serious effort.

Our version swaps the traditional vodka for Rostrevor Ruby Irish Gin. Its strawberry and raspberry flavours work rather well with pineapple and raspberry liqueur, while the gin’s lighter notes of mint and rose keep the drink fresh.

In other words, it is pink for a reason.

Rostrevor French Martini Recipe

You will need

  • 50ml Rostrevor Ruby Irish Gin
  • 15ml raspberry liqueur
  • 50ml pineapple juice
  • 10ml fresh lemon juice
  • Plenty of ice
  • A lemon twist or fresh raspberry to garnish

How to make it

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Add the Rostrevor Ruby, raspberry liqueur, pineapple juice and lemon juice.
  3. Shake it properly for around 15 seconds. This chills the drink and creates the soft foam on top.
  4. Double strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
  5. Finish with a lemon twist or fresh raspberry.

A small but important tip

Use chilled pineapple juice and shake harder than you think you need to. That is what gives a French Martini its smooth texture and foamy top.

If the drink tastes too sweet, add a little more fresh lemon juice. If you prefer it fruitier, increase the raspberry liqueur slightly. No need to turn it into a chemistry experiment. Taste it and adjust.

Why Rostrevor Ruby works

Rostrevor Ruby is our cold-distilled Irish gin, made with strawberry, raspberry, mint and rose. Cold distillation allows us to capture delicate flavours at lower temperatures, rather than cooking the botanicals with high heat.

Those bright berry flavours make it a natural fit for a French Martini. The result is fruity without becoming heavy, with enough freshness to keep you coming back for another sip.

Possibly another glass. We will leave that with you.
